PMO's face a unique challenge in the wide variety of projects that they are responsible to undertake. This year it could be an upgrade to the Financial applications and implement a new Warehousing system. Next year is scheduled a Content Management system to be followed by an upgrade to Office 2010.

The value of the PSP is that you have a consistent delivery framework for project execution (i.e. issues from all projects are on a single list), the entire project can be encapsulated for future reference (i.e. the next upgrade), the system is self documenting so you can easily see a complete trail of how decisions were made and who made them as well as numerous other benefits.

If it involves people, objectives, dead-lines, money or team-work, the PSP can be utilized.
